"Measuring Up" is a British Columbia province-wide initiative to provide accessibility and inclusion for all people. The Powell River "Measuring Up" Committee was established by Powell River City Council in 2006. Powell River was designated a "Model Community", along with Whistler and Vancouver , and as such, presented at the World Urban Forum in Vancouver BC, in 2006. The "Measuring Up" committee has established both short-term and long-terms goals which will help ensure access and inclusion for Powell Riverites of all ability levels.
